The Independence Center Health Group (formerly Midwest Psychiatry) provides exceptional psychiatric care from Washington University psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and a telepsychiatrist. Our focus is on recovery and wellness, and we place an emphasis on helping patients achieve psychiatric stability as well as improved physical health.
The care here is as individualized as the people who come to seek treatment. Our Care Team works closely with the patient, their family and community support staff to provide high quality, effective and holistic care.
People come to our clinic from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, traumas, and often with other medical conditions. We look at the whole person, and provide treatment with full awareness of that person’s life situation, and in collaboration with their medical care.
We provide a complete evaluation that establishes diagnoses, recommendations for treatment, medication regime, physical health status, and the need for community resources.
Treatment planning is done in conjunction with the patient and others involved in their care. The focus is on recovery and wellness and thus is holistic in nature.
We provide ongoing assessment, monitoring, and prescription of medications.
Individual and group therapy is provided by licensed clinical social workers. Patients can be referred by their doctor or social worker.
We bring a holistic approach to care by monitoring health measures at each visit and providing health information and referrals for physical health needs.
