(ST. LOUIS – March 3, 2022) Every year Missouri Mental Health Foundation recognizes three Missourians who have overcome challenges as a Mental Health Champion. This year they are recognizing one of Independence Center’s members, Steve Whyte as a 2022 Mental Health Champion.

Steve Whyte has dealt with mental illness his whole life. Whyte is being recognized for using his own experience with his mental health to make a positive impact on the community. He has made it his mission to educate and share his story with more than 1,200 first responders in the St. Louis area in hopes they understand how to better respond to people dealing with mental illnesses.
